From Detroit to Austin: Lisa Copeland's Story of Reinvention and Success

The Detroit Years

I started my career in the automotive industry in Detroit. It was a male-dominated world, and I learned early that if I wanted to succeed, I had to work harder, know more, and out-prepare everyone in the room. I became the first FIAT retailer to break the NAFTA sales record, and I led teams that produced results that the industry had never seen before. Those years taught me discipline, strategy, and the art of negotiation. They also taught me that success is not about where you start. It is about how hard you are willing to work.

The Pivot to Real Estate

When I moved to Austin, I saw an opportunity. The city was growing, the economy was thriving, and the real estate market was ripe for someone with my background in sales, negotiation, and business strategy. I got my real estate license and threw myself into learning the market. I studied neighborhoods, school districts, market trends, and the intricacies of Texas real estate law. I treated real estate the way I had treated automotive: with relentless preparation and an unwavering commitment to my clients.

Building a Billion-Dollar Business

The results came. Transaction by transaction, referral by referral, I built a business that has now closed over $5 billion in career sales across 29 countries. I have been named a 4X eXp Icon Agent, RealTrends Verified, Real Producers Top 500, and a Beta Influencer at eXp Realty. I have led teams of over 900 agents. But the numbers are not what matters most to me. What matters is that every transaction represents a family who trusted me to guide them through one of the most important decisions of their lives.

The Lioness Movement

As my career grew, I realized that my story resonated with women who were at a crossroads in their own lives. Women over 50 who wondered if it was too late to start over. Women who had spent decades building careers and families and were ready to build something for themselves. I wrote Lioness Unleashed and founded the Lioness Movement to help those women understand that it is never too late to become who you were meant to be. Real estate is the vehicle, but the mission is bigger than any transaction.
