Lay the foundation for a smooth relocation
Get pre-approved before you even start browsing homes online. Knowing your number takes the guesswork out of your search. It also tells sellers you are serious. Narrow your search and find your new home
Visit your target neighborhoods at different times -- weekday morning, weekend afternoon, and evening. You want to feel the rhythm of the area before you commit. Central Texas communities each have their own personality: Georgetown's historic charm, Round Rock's family-friendly vibe, Belton's lake-town energy, Temple's medical corridor growth. Let me curate a tour day for you.
Close, coordinate, and start packing
Set up your utilities 2 weeks before closing. Trust me -- you do not want to walk into a dark house with no AC in a Texas summer. I can give you a list of recommended utility providers for your specific area so you are not searching at the last minute.
The final push to moving day
Pack a "first night" box separately. Include bedding, toiletries, a change of clothes, phone chargers, coffee supplies, and basic tools. When you arrive exhausted after a long moving day, you will be so glad you do not have to dig through 40 boxes to find your toothbrush.
Settle in and make Central Texas home
Texas law requires you to update your driver's license within 90 days of moving here. You can do it at any Texas DMV office. Bring proof of residency (utility bill or lease/mortgage), your current license, and proof of vehicle registration and insurance. Make an appointment online to save time.
